Spartans Step Up: “Being Safe and Feeling Safe as Pandemic Restrictions Ease”

As more people become vaccinated, COVID-19 restrictions are dwindling. What are the next steps as we move into this new phase? How will public health officials monitor the new situation? What guidance do we need to follow? How has the pandemic affected people mentally? Even though we are told what is safe, how do we go about feeling safe?

On Thursday, May 13 at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT, the next installment of Spartans Step Up will look into these questions and more in a discussion titled “Being Safe and Feeling Safe as Pandemic Restrictions Ease.” Amanda L. Mahoney, chief curator of the Dittrick Medical History Center and Museum, will moderate an expert panel featuring:

  • Heidi Gullett, associate director of the Center for Community Health Integration; associate professor; the Charles Kent Smith, MD and Patricia Hughes Moore, MD Professor in Medical Student Education in Family Medicine; and medical director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Health; and
  • Norah Feeny, professor, in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences.

Viewers are invited to submit questions for the panel when registering for the livestream or during the webcast.
