“Sounds from the Archive: A Roundtable Discussion of How Sound Has Shaped the History of Human Experience”

The Case Western Reserve University community is invited to “Sounds from the Archive: A Roundtable Discussion of How Sound Has Shaped the History of Human Experience” Monday, Oct. 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Kelvin Smith Library’s Freedman Center.

The discussion will explore the historical formations of sound communities and consider collaborative acts of sound making, recording, retrieving and listening.

The panel will be composed of:

  • Mary Caton Lingold of the Virginia Commonwealth;
  • Brittnay L. Proctor of The College of Wooster; and
  • Danielle Skeehan of the Oberlin College.

This event is held in partnership among the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship, Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities, SAGES and the Department of English.
