Lilith Freed, a sophomore, recently won the Case Western Reserve University Pride LGBT Ohio Leadership Scholarship, sponsored by The Alumni Association of CWRU.
The award was based on Freed’s advocating for, and leadership within, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community at CWRU. The funds awarded to Freed by the CWRU Pride LGBT Ohio Leadership Scholarship Selection Committee will enable them, and other students, to attend the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference (MBLBTACC), hosted by Purdue University in Indiana.
While serving in various leadership roles with Spectrum, the LGBTA student group at CWRU, Lilith has increased the number of educational and activist opportunities, and helped to make the organization more visible on campus. Their goal is that those who are given the opportunity to attend the MBLBTACC will be inspired and motivated to step up into a position of leadership, and continue to steer the campus community toward progress.
