Sociology’s Susan Hinze discusses effect of school shooting on Chardon community

Will Chardon be the same town following Monday’s schooling shootings?

WKSU: Associate professor of sociology Susan Hinze said the residents of Chardon will try to figure out how they could have prevented the tragedy, but she said the change can be positive. “You do see the community pull together. The challenge is not to have a fear-based attitude … but rather how to come together in a way that also provides some kind of understanding and insight to the social situations,” she said.
