Cleveland leaders bypass prosecutors to seek charge in Tamir Rice case
The New York TimesRhonda Y. Williams, founder and director of the Social Justice Institute and associate professor of history, explained why she signed an affidavit seeking charges in the Tamir Rice case. “Let’s get it into the courts and get it before the people, and let’s get what is happening in the investigation out there to the community,” she said. “And let’s give the defendants their rights to defend themselves, and let’s have a criminal justice system that works.”
