Social Justice Institute Research Lunch Series

The Social Justice Institute monthly Research Lunch Series continues Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Crawford Hall, Room A13 with presentations from the Social Justice Institute Fellows.

Diana Bilimoria, the KeyBank Professor and chair of the Department of Organizational Behavior, and graduate students Morgan Bulger and Keimei Sugiyama, will present “Lost and Found: Collective Identity Recovery Through Legacy.” Their presentation is an examination of Japanese-American identity following the experience of internment during WWII.

Cassi Pittman, assistant professor of sociology, will share “Forest Hill Neighborhood Study: The Impact of Racial and Cultural Affinities,” which focuses on changes in East Cleveland demographics and long-term residents.

Additionally, the 2016-2017 fellows will introduce their areas of research. They are: Janet McGrath (anthropology), Andrew Rollins (biomedical engineering), Matthew Rossman (law), Elizabeth Nalepa (sociology) and Megan Sane-Schmidt (medical anthropology).

Attendees should bring a lunch; drinks and desserts provided.
