“Social Determinants and the Opioid Epidemic in Ohio”

The Mary Ann Swetland Center for Environmental Health will host its April seminar series event Tuesday, April 27, from 9 to 10 a.m. with a talk titled “Social Determinants and the Opioid Epidemic in Ohio.” It will feature Elisabeth Root, a faculty affiliate of the Translational Data Analytics Institute and a professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Geography and Division of Epidemiology at Ohio State University.

Root will discuss some of the research from the HEALing Communities Study (HCS), which explores the impact of community-level social determinants of health on a variety of opioid-related outcomes.
