David L. Moody will present a lecture titled “Sing, My Brother, Sing! Black Liberation Theology, Christian Hip-Hop, and Youth Ministries” on Tuesday, Feb. 18, from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 206 of Clark Hall.
Moody is the author of Political Melodies in the Pews? The Voice of the Black Christian Rapper in the Twenty-first Century Church. His talk will explore the dynamic of hip-hop Christian ministries and Black youth in the context of Black liberation theology and nationalism. Moody’s lecture will be followed by a question and answer period.
The event is free and open to the community. Light refreshments will be served.
