Fannie, Freddie executives say they need big paychecks to protect taxpayer money

International Business Times: Top executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac defended their lucrative pay during a House of Representatives panel. In 2009 and 2010, the top six officers were given a total of more than $35 million in compensation. “That sounds about the going rate to me in that sort of business,” said Simon Peck, associate professor of marketing and policy studies at Weatherhead School of Management.
