Spoken English Language Programs in the School of Graduate Studies hosts free weekly workshops for international graduate students and postdocs on topics in using the English language and U.S. academic and social culture.
Several workshops have been scheduled for the next few weeks. Each session topic will have either two or three attendance options (on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays).
The following workshops will be held soon:
- “What’s your Opinion about Opinions? Asking for, Giving, Agreeing and Disagreeing”—Tuesday, March 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Friday, March 31, from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135
- “What? Huh? Strengthening your English Language Listening Skills”—Tuesday, April 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Thursday, April 6, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.; and Friday, April 7, from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135
- “Baseball: The USA’s National Pastime”—Tuesday, April 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 239; Thursday, April 13, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135; and Friday, April 14, from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135
- “Summer Travel and Fun in Cleveland, Ohio, and the USA”—Tuesday, April 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Thursday, April 20, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.; and Friday, April 21, from 3:20 to 4:20 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135
- “Networking and Socializing in the United States”—Tuesday, April 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 239; and Thursday, April 27, from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in Tomlinson Hall, Room 135.
Students can register for workshops through CampusGroups.
Students are asked to register for only one workshop per week; the content is repeated.
