The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Case Western Reserve University will host their annual Shave It Off! event Saturday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is virtual this year using Zoom to bring participants on live for the event.
Members of the community can join via Zoom to shave their own head or stop by the West Park Barbershop, Jenniffer & Co, Glam Garage or Michael Christopher Salon to be shaved at one of those locations. Individuals also can use their own salon/barbershop to shave live on Zoom if they can coordinate that with the business.
Those not up for shaving their head can donate their hair or help raise funds and awareness. Those who get involved will be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
To date, the community has raised more than $25,000 of the $100,000 goal for this year’s campaign. Sign up to participate in the event and donate.
All registered participants who have raised $50 or more will be eligible for an event shirt, and those who have raised $100 will receive an event pin. Request a T-shirt or pin.
