Three second year medical students at Case Western Reserve founded a brand new organization with the express mission of encouraging charitable donations in exchange for homemade loaves of bread. After Thanksgiving break, Anisha Garg and Kelsey Jensen with technical assistance from Sanjit Datta founded Share the Loaf: Make the World a Bread-er Place. In barely three weeks, Share the Loaf has been on a “roll,” managing to raise $1,233.66, which has gone to Planned Parenthood, American Civil Liberties Union, Natural Resources Defense Council, Trevor Project, White Helmets and other organizations. Together, the students, faculty and staff at CWRU can “bake the world a bread-er place.”
