SEXPOpalooza is a health fair intended to remove the taboo associated with openly discussing sex and sexuality. This event challenges established social norms by giving students a safe place to learn, discuss, and participate in activities and discussions.
The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Undergraduate Student Government, Greek Life and other Case Western Reserve University community members collaborate to host the event. This year’s SEXPOpalooza, themed “Sex Around the World,” will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Thwing Center ballroom.
The focus this year is on the importance of expanding our understanding of sex and sexuality beyond the westernized, heteronormative conversations prominently seen in society.
Keynote speaker Justin Lehmiller, a social psychologist and research fellow at The Kinsey Institute, will present on “Consent in Sexual Drive” to open the event at noon.
The event also will include a panel discussion and tables with resources.
