Campus Police & Security Services, the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and the Department of Human Resources are offering a workshop Sept. 8 on Building a Safer Workplace.
University staff and faculty consistently interact with a wide range of constituents. Ensuring a peaceful and safe environment begins with the ability to assess and appropriately deal with potentially threatening situations before they escalate. Through appropriate training, faculty and staff can act with confidence when the need arises, whether that means diffusing an angry customer, calming a frustrated colleague or contacting Police and Security Services.
This workshop will cover:
- Tools and resources available when dealing with inappropriate, unprofessional and threatening-like behavior in the workplace.
- Resources available when dealing with a past or current personal relationship in which inappropriate and threatening behaviors are exhibited, including intimate partner violence and stalking.
The workshop will be held Sept. 8 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in 1914 Lounge at Thwing Center. RSVP online.
