University Health and Counseling Services will host an event called Send Silence Packing Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom.
Send Silence Packing is a visually striking exhibit that includes personal stories from people who have lost a loved one to suicide and is designed to connect individuals to mental health resources and inspire action for suicide prevention.
All members of the Case Western Reserve University community are invited to walk among the Send Silence Packing backpacks to see the photographs and read the stories attached to them.
Registration is not necessary.
University Health and Counseling Services also is looking for volunteers for the event. Volunteering also counts toward hours of civic engagement activities for the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning’s Civic Engagement Scholars Program. Sign up to volunteer.
For those unable to attend the event, Active Minds has created a virtual exhibit, Behind the Backpacks.
