Seminar to explain REDCap online survey and database manager

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics Research Seminar will cover “REDCap 101: Introduction to REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture)” Feb. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Biomedical Research Building 105.

Sheree Hemphill, clinical research unit informatics manager in the CTSC Biomedical Informatics Core, will lead the seminar, explaining REDCap, a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases.

REDCap allows for the safe, secure storage of your research data and provides audit trails for tracking data manipulation and user activity, as well as automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel, PDF and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R). This will be a basic overview of the features of the system and an opportunity to ask questions regarding the use of REDCap.
