Sears think[box] tour, exhibition to be held June 18

A tour of the Larry Sears and Sally Zlotnick Sears think[ box ] and pop-up exhibition will be held Saturday, June 18.

The event, presented by Sears think[ box ] and Zygote Press, will feature FILE PREP, a group exhibition of think[ box ]-created works of art by Elizabeth Emery, Liz Maugans, Lisa Schonberg, Corrie Slawson and Rebekah Wilhelm.

Zygote Press is an artist workshop promoting contemporary fine-art printing.

The artists acted as ambassadors to Sears think[ box ] over a three-month residency, learning approaches to digital manufacturing with the goal of sharing this information with the larger Zygote Press community. Marcus Brathwaite, lead lab technician and creative consultant at Sears think[ box ], guided the artists through their projects.

The artists collaborated with staff to create a technical document designed specifically for future print-based artists to accompany the current Sears think[ box ] tutorials. It also will be shared with other artists, printmakers and local university print programs.

The tour will be held at 1:30 p.m., followed by an exhibition of think[ box ]-inspired art at Ink House studio (423 East 156th St.) at 2:30 p.m.

The exhibition runs through June 25 and will be on exhibit for the Waterloo Arts Fest.

The Ohio Arts Council through sponsors the exhibition through a project-supported grant.
