As a part of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) Scientific Series, researchers will present the findings of their Research Innovation Fund pilot projects, offer an overview of their scientific discoveries and outline what comes next for their projects. The presentations, held Thursday, March 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wolstein Research Building Auditorium, will be followed by a reception.
The presenting researchers will be:
- Jill Barnholtz-Sloan, the Sally S. Morley Designated Professor in Brain Tumor Research and associate director for Bioinformatics at Case CCC, presenting “Profiles of protein heterogeneity and invasiveness in glioblastoma;”
- Peter Scacheri, professor of genetics and genome sciences at CWRU, presenting “Targeting metastasis in osteosarcoma by inhibiting tissue factor;”
- Bill Schiemann, the Isador Goodman-Ruth Goodman Blum Professor in Cancer Research and professor of general medical sciences-oncology, presenting “Regulation of breast cancer metastasis and dormancy by the lncRNA BORG;” and
- Bingcheng Wang, co-leader of the Molecular Oncology Program at Case CCC, presenting “Targeting EphA2-HSP27 signaling axis in glioblastoma.”
