The Department of Physics will host science historian Rebecca Charbonneau for a talk titled “Science in a Divided World: Communication Across Cosmic and Political Boundaries” Thursday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Rockefeller Building, Room 301.
Charbonneau is affiliated with the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and the American Institute of Physics. Her talk is on the search for extraterrestrial intelligence during the Cold War and the surprising scientific collaborations that helped build bridges in a time of geopolitical division.
This talk is free and open to students, faculty, staff and the public.
