Growth in solar power and other renewable energy sources has been slowed some by a lack of storage capacity, but researchers at Case Western Reserve University are exploring new large-scale battery solutions to that problem.

Science Café Cleveland: “Solar Module Material Degradation”

The research of this month’s Science Café Cleveland guest—Laura Bruckman from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering—has applications in solar packaging materials, building envelope materials and coatings. Join Sigma Xi, CWRU’s Scientific Research Honor Society, to hear Bruckman discuss her work on bringing a data science approach to understanding materials degradation in solar PV modules resulting from a variety of stressors.

The lecture, titled “Solar Module Material Degradation,” will take place Monday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. (EST).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Science Café Cleveland will be online this month. Connect to the session by following the Zoom address linked on the Facebook event page.
