School of Medicine researchers write editorial about conflict of interest disclosure

A team of researchers at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine recently had an article published in the journal Pediatric Pulmonology. David J. Birnkrant, professor emeritus of pediatrics; Jane B. Black, clinical assistant professor of pediatrics; and John C. Carter, assistant professor of medicine, co-wrote the editorial, titled “A Process-Based Approach to Conflicts of Interest.”

In it, they propose a new structure for disclosure of conflicts of interest related to biomedical research.

The article is an extension of their work in the field of neuromuscular respiratory medicine; it is available via Open Access.
