To sell medical students on joys of geriatrics, send in 90-year-olds
NPR: To help increase interest in the geriatrics field, the School of Medicine hosts a “Life Over 90” event each year to give students the chance to hear from seniors who directly benefit from geriatric medicine. Jeremy Hill, a second-year medical student, described why he hopes to someday enter the specialty. “I have such respect and admiration for this population, and if I could somehow give them one extra good day they would not have had otherwise,” he said, “I would be privileged to work with them.”
