School of Medicine community invited to hear from the American Medical Women’s Association’s president elect

The Women Faculty of the School of Medicine Annual Spring Dinner will be May 21 5:00-7:30PM – Thwing Excelsior Ballroom. The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Eileen D. Barrett, President Elect of American Medical Woman’s Association.

Eileen Barrett, MD, MPH, is an internal medicine and addiction physician based in Albuquerque. She received her MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MD at Georgetown University, and completed internal medicine residency at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital. She completed a Medical Justice and Advocacy Fellowship through Morehouse School of Medicine and the American Medical Association in 2022. She is 2025-2026 President of the American Medical Women’s Association and Chair Emerita of the Board of Regents of the American College of Physicians and Senior Medical Director + VP, Quality, at Workit Health. Her writing has been published in JAMA, Journal of Addiction Medicine, the Journal of Hospital Medicine, the Annals of Internal Medicine, Modern Healthcare, the New York Times, and more.
