Save the date: ”Comparative Effectiveness Research: From All Angles” to be held in May

“Comparative Effectiveness Research: From All Angles,” the third annual, two-day conference, will be held May 22-23 at Case Western Reserve University. The conference will feature a number of distinguished speakers presenting on a variety of medical-field topics including policy, physician practice, ethical issues and more. The conference will continue May 29-31 with a three-day course in cost-effectiveness analysis.

Discounted registration is available for interns, residents, fellows, full-time students not taking for academic credit and employees of public health departments.

Featured speakers will include:

  • Jessica Berg, professor of law, bioethics and epidemiology and biostatistics at CWRU; associate director of the Law-Medicine Center
  • Barbara J. Daly, Gertrude Perkins Oliva Professor in Oncology Nursing at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing; director of clinical ethics, University Hospitals Case Medical Center
  • Gregory S. Cooper, professor of medicine in the Department of Gastroenterology and Liver Disease; medical director of the GI Cancer Center of Excellence at University Hospitals Case Medical Center
  • William S. Schwab, National Guidelines Committee, Kaiser Permanente; medical director, home health, Ohio Permanente Medical Group
  • J.B. Silvers, John R. Mannix Medical Mutual of Ohio Professor of Health Care Finance, department chair and professor of banking and finance at Weatherhead School of Management
  • Mendel E. Singer, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and director of research for the Master of Public Health program
