Safe Ride increases number of vans, continues year-round service

As the semester winds down, Safe Ride at Case Western Reserve University continues to provide after-hours transportation service to the community seven days a week from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.

In April, the Safe Ride service had 12 to 15 vans on the road nightly to reduce wait times—completing, as of April 26, nearly 11,000 rides with an average wait time of 19 minutes.

The service, which continued throughout the COVID-19 pandemic when similar offerings at other universities shut down, is open to all students, faculty and staff at Case Western Reserve. All Safe Ride vehicles are driven by security officers.

To request a Safe Ride, visit saferide.case.edu, call 216.368.3000, or use the CWRU Safe Ride app.
