The 2017 Staff Advisory Council (SAC) Community Service Basket Raffle will be held in conjunction with the Benefits Fair Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pre-sale tickets were available at the Vendor Fair Oct. 24 and from SAC representatives until Friday, Nov. 3. Pre-sale tickets cost $5 for seven tickets.
At the Benefits Fair, tickets will cost $5 for six tickets, or $1 each.
This year, basket raffle proceeds will benefit The Littlest Heroes and C.E. King Middle School in Houston.
The Littlest Heroes address the economic, emotional and social concerns that accompany childhood cancer through education, assistance and community organization.
C.E. King Middle School was badly affected by Hurricane Harvey. Supplies belonging to students and staff were lost. The school is starting over from scratch and will be sharing space within another school for at least this semester.
This event is made possible by departments generously donating baskets. Those who would like to donate a basket can do so by filling out an online form.
