Review safety and security tips before leaving campus for winter break

With final exams ending this week, many students will be departing their residences on and near campus. As you prepare to head home, there are a number of safety tips to keep in mind to help protect yourself against theft during winter break.

You should:

  • Take any items of value home if possible.
  • Record the serial number of any devices being left in your residence.
  • Take all money, credit cards and IDs home with you.
  • Lock all doors and windows.

If something is missing when you return, contact the CWRU Police Department immediately.

Those living in residence halls on campus will not be able to access their rooms once doors to the halls are secured at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16. Be sure to pack carefully so you don’t leave something behind.
