Rethink issues surrounding obesity at Science Café Cleveland’s ”Fat Cells: The Loyal Friends You Despise”

On Monday, Dec. 10, Science Café Cleveland will present “Fat Cells: The Loyal Friends You Despise,” featuring Paul Ernsberger, associate professor of nutrition at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

While many scientists continue searching for a magic bullet that turns everyone slender, others are beginning to ask: “What if we could mitigate or reverse the harm that excess fat does to the body? Can we make the obese healthier, even if we can’t make them skinnier?”

Ernsberger will lead a discussion examining these issues at The Market Garden Brewery. Drinks will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the discussion will begin at 7 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Case Western Reserve University chapter of Sigma Xi, WCPN ideastream, and the Market Garden Brewery.
