Natural defense against C. diff uncovered by CWRU researcher and colleagues
The Plain Dealer: Researchers have discovered a natural defense mechanism to fight the potentially deadly superbug Clostridium difficile (C. diff) without using antibiotics. “Figuring out how the mechanism deactivates the toxins gives us a basis for developing new therapies that can directly target toxins and prevent bacterial infections from spreading,” said Jonathan Stamler, director of the Institute for Transformative Molecular Medicine.
