Treatment keeps obese mice from having overweight babies
Science Magazine: A recent study tested the use of adiponectin in pregnant obese mice to prevent them from having overweight babies. The study resulted in the mice born at the same weight as those from lean mothers. Patrick Catalano, professor of reproductive biology, explained why the results might not translate well in humans: Mice typically aren’t born with much fat.
