RePlay for Kids will host a toy repair and modification workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Crawford Hall, Room A09, to benefit children with disabilities in Northeast Ohio.
There are a few toys that need to be adapted so that a child with a disability can use them and some that have already been adapted but need some minor repairs. There are communication devices that also need minor repairs and there are several switches that are used to operate these toys or communication devices, which are in need of minor repairs.
The toys are adapted by adding a second switch parallel to the existing one. Most of the repairs involve testing and fixing broken wires or other simple repairs.
Volunteers do not need to be there for the entire workshop.
