Religious studies’ Timothy Beal authors piece on religion and horror films

Timothy Beal, the Florence Harkness Professor of Religion and chair of the Department of Religious Studies, wrote about the connection between horror films and religion, showing how scary movies may actually support central ideas of religion.

The piece, titled “The Horror: Religion and the Monstrous on Film,” was featured in the blog for Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs.
