“Regulating Energy and Land Management at the Department of the Interior”

The School of Law invites members of the Case Western Reserve University community to a talk by Kati Kovacs, deputy assistant secretary in the Department of the Interior.

Kovacs will present “Regulating Energy and Land Management at the Department of the Interior” Wednesday, Sept. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. in the School of Law’s Moot Courtroom (Room A59).

Kovacs, who supervises rulemaking related to energy and land management, will provide a practical explanation of how federal agencies navigate the process for creating regulations. She also will discuss some of the Department of the Interior’s significant regulatory accomplishments related to encouraging renewable energy development both onshore and on the outer continental shelf, continuing responsible conventional energy activities on- and off-shore, and ensuring balanced management of federal lands.
