Register for Graduate Student Council Professional Development Conference Feb. 27

The third annual Graduate Student Council Professional Development Conference will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Tinkham Veale University Center, ballrooms B and C.

The conference will feature workshops in career development, leadership and management, professionalism, communication, research skills and mentoring.

Rudy Bellani, CEO of Oystir, will give a keynote address, titled “Finding Fulfilling Careers, Not Work.”

Students are invited to attend up to four of the following sessions:

  • Cover Letter Writing
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Communicating to Non-Experts
  • Leadership in Teamwork
  • What Careers Suit Me
  • How Employers Think and How to Use That to Your Advantage
  • Breaking Into Consulting
  • Breaking Into Biotech
  • Conflict Management
  • Culture Differences in Business Etiquette
  • Unconscious Bias in the Workplace
  • Teaching Skills and Communications
  • Tips for Applying to Non-Academic Jobs in STEM

Students also will have the opportunity to attend a panel discussion on mentoring and teaching, featuring past winners of the John S. Diekhoff Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching.

Murray Hill Market will provide continental breakfast and lunch.
