Recent law school Kyle Jorstad graduate pens piece on liability in artificial intelligence

Kyle Jorstad, a recent graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, had a piece published in the Journal of Medical Artificial Intelligence.

The article, titled “Intersection of artificial intelligence and medicine: tort liability in the technological age,” analyzes the medico-legal and bioethical risks posed by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning into clinical radiology practice. Jorstad examined how the health care industry can minimize short-term liability for machine learning error, while ensuring that neither the public nor the regulatory framework are biased against the use of AI in medicine.
