“Realms and Dominions: Worldbuilding in Science Fiction”

The Department of English will host a workshop for members of the Case Western Reserve University community who want to learn more about writing science fiction.

Science fiction authors Charles Oberndorf and Marie Vibbert will present “Realms and Dominions: Worldbuilding in Science Fiction” Saturday, April 13, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in Bellflower Hall, Room 102.

About the speakers

Oberndorf teaches English at University School and is the author of three novels: Sheltered Lives, Testing and Foragers. His short-form story “Another Life” was published in Year’s Best SF 15.

Vibbert, an applications developer at CWRU, has sold more than 35 short stories to publications like Analog, The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Lightspeed and Vice. She is a first reader for Clarkesworld and Reckoning, and also writes poetry, comics and video games.
