Coverage of lung cancer screening proposed by Medicare; local hospitals praise the move
The Plain Dealer: Chip Gilkeson, professor of radiology, discussed a new proposal for Medicare to cover the costs of lung cancer screenings, which many area hospitals had long provided at a reduced price. “I think we’ve confirmed that the technology was important and it was worth the initial investment,” he said. “It did make a difference in terms of survival.”
