Purchase holiday gifts for local children through the Giving Tree in Thwing Center

A number of university organizations once again will sponsor the annual Giving Tree program, providing gifts to more than 100 children who live in neighborhoods surrounding Case Western Reserve University and use the services of the Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services Inc.

To take part, visit Thwing Center atrium and look for the Giving Tree display. Gift request tags from children will be hanging on the tree until Monday, Dec. 10.

To participate:

  • Remove the green ornament only; leave the colored ornament on the tree.
  • Place your name, phone number and email address on the list located on the table next to the Giving Tree display. Make sure your information corresponds to the child’s name/ornament you selected.
  • Keep the green tag as your shopping guide and attach it to the gift as a gift tag.

All gifts (no more than $25) should be wrapped and returned to the Thwing Center Administration Office by Dec. 14 at 5 p.m.

If lieu of buying gifts, Thwing Center administration will collect cash or checks (payable to CWRU) and purchase gifts for you.

For more information, or if you would like to sponsor more than one child from the same family, contact Terri Geiger at 368.2660.

The Giving Tree is sponsored in part by Thwing Center Administration, Pi Beta Phi sorority, Kelvin Smith Library, the Department of Ophthalmology, University Health Service, the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Barnes and Noble Bookstore, the Office of Student Activities and Leadership and the Residence Hall Association’s Carlton Road Community Council.
