Business Insider: SAT officials announced they will bring scoring for the test back to a 1,600-point scale, eliminate penalties for wrong answers and make the essay optional. Douglas Detterman, professor emeritus of psychology, discussed each portion of the revisions, but noted that, on the whole, “the changes are relatively minor.”
