The African American Alumni Association, in partnership with Case Western Reserve University’s Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity, invites members of the campus community to attend Profiles of Inclusive Excellence events. This series features in-depth conversations with faculty and staff from across campus—highlighting their work and research.
The next session, held Tuesday, March 22, at 6 p.m., will highlight Yolanda Fortenberry, an associate professor of biology at Case Western Reserve University. Fortenberry is studying possible therapies for sickle cell disease and is one of 12 researchers in the country chosen for a 2020 Hartwell Individual Biomedical Research Award and designation as a Hartwell Investigator by The Hartwell Foundation.
Heather Burton, senior director for Faculty and Institutional Diversity at the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity, will conduct the one-on-one interview.
