Edward (“Ted”) A. Mearns Jr., professor emeritus of law, died July 3.
Mearns served on Case Western Reserve University School of Law faculty from 1974 to 1988 and was a professor emeritus of law since his retirement. He also served as vice dean of the School of Medicine and as acting provost during the 1980s.
Visiting hours will be Friday, July 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Brown Forward Funeral Home (17022 Chagrin Blvd., Shaker Heights). A memorial service will take place Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace (12601 Shaker Blvd.).
A memorial for the campus community will be scheduled for a later date. Additional details will be provided at that time.
