The University Compliance Office will continue its monthly “Speaking of Privacy” information sessions for Case Western Reserve University employees on Thursday, Jan. 15. Attendees will learn about general privacy management in higher education and get tips on the proper management of sensitive information they may have access to in their jobs.
This session will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Toepfer Room of Adelbert Hall. Seating is limited, so the event will be first come, first seated. Another session on the same topic will be held April 16 in the Toepfer Room.
The privacy-related information sessions in this series occur at 10 a.m. on the third Thursday of every month, rotating between general privacy management in higher education; Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on student education records; and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), on health records. After the Jan. 15 session, the next general privacy management in higher education session will take place April 16 in the Toepfer Room. Sessions on FERPA will be held Feb. 19 in Crawford 720 and May 21 in the Toepfer Room. Sessions on HIPAA will be held March 19 and June 18 in the Toepfer Room.
