Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine’s Office of Faculty Affairs will host a workshop titled “Principles of Sound Scientific Writing: A Series” Wednesday, April 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Samson Pavilion, Room 271.
Participants in this workshop will use a structured paradigm to bring clarity and conciseness to your scientific writing. There will be interactive lectures, small group exercises and opportunities to give and receive peer feedback.
Goutham Rao, Jack H. Medalie Professor of Home-Centered Health Care, will lead this workshop.
The objectives are to:
- Provide an overview of the importance of improving scientific writing for clear communication and academic advancement;
- List and describe each element of the 5Cs scientific writing paradigm;
- Given a specific biomedical topic, construct a clear, concise, and impactful paragraph.
The fee is $25 and the workshop is eligible for two hours of Continuing Medical Education Credit.
Refreshments will be provided at 5:30 p.m.
