“It’s Primal: Understanding the impact of emotions and stress”

Midterms stressing you out? Learn about the impact of emotions and stress with Ellen Van Oosten, assistant professor of organizational behavior.

The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women will host this 2016-2017 Salon Series event, titled “It’s Primal: Understanding the impact of emotions and stress,” Thursday, March 9, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, Suite 248.

Van Oosten’s talk will be based on decades of research into emotional intelligence competencies and longitudinal studies of their development. She will explain how people in leadership and helping positions, including managers, coaches, teachers and parents, can lose their effectiveness over time due to the cumulative damage of chronic stress.
