President Barbara R. Snyder talks about free cybersecurity conference

Corporations, research institutes teaming up to fight growing cybercrime threat
The Plain Dealer: CWRU and Cleveland Clinic launched an initiative for Cleveland to hold a free conferenceWednesday, Oct. 14, to help prevent hacking and other types of cyber attacks. President Barbara R. Snyder discussed the growing need for added cybersecurity defenses. “Most of these attacks are easily rebuffed with defenses we have in place,” she said. “But as they get more sophisticated, we want to be able to stay ahead of them so we avoid having a breach of that nature.”
