Prepare for finals with [U]Tech Teaching and Learning Technologies team

Learn how to easily administer remote testing with University Technology’s ([U]Tech) Teaching and Learning Technologies team (TLT) workshops and resources.

Upcoming workshops

TLT is offering two workshops that will prepare faculty and staff for end-of-the-semester remote testing:

“Getting Started with Remote Testing”

Thursday, Dec. 3
10 – 11 a.m.

Learn about creating quizzes in Canvas, as well as remote testing options at CWRU. View a recording of “Getting Started with Remote Testing.”

“Secure Testing Tools”

Friday, Dec. 4
Noon to 1 p.m.

Learn about secure testing tools available to you, including Respondus LockDown Browser + Monitor and Honorlock.

Planning for spring semester

As finals wrap up, get ready to swing into spring with four remote delivery workshops offered by TLT the weeks of Dec. 14 and Jan. 10. Topics will include technology, assessment strategies, making the most of synchronous and asynchronous time, and building effective communication with students. Faculty iPad drop-in hours

Tuesdays
11 a.m. to noon.

Instructors borrowing iPads from CWRU for use in teaching are encouraged to join this meeting in order to try out or troubleshoot iPad features that they plan to use in their classes. 

Remote and secure testing appointments

Wednesdays, from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
Thursdays, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Pedagogy and course design appointments

Wednesdays

Have questions about grades and quizzes, or about setting up your sites for the next semester? Stop by during Canvas drop-in hours to talk to a Teaching + Learning Technologies team member and get your Canvas questions answered at the following dates and times:

  • Monday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
  • Monday, Dec. 14, from 10:30 a.m. to noon
  • Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to noon

Recordings available

Understanding that not everyone will be able to make these times, sessions will be recorded and placed on the Faculty Training Opportunities website, where faculty also can find recordings of previous workshops, “How-To” guides, and resources on Secure Testing, Echo360, Canvas and more. TLT also is offering virtual drop-in hours and appointments that can be scheduled through the TLT Training Calendar
