Students who are considering moving toward a career in teaching can sign up for the University 400C Future Faculty Preparation Seminar for a first step in the process.
Taught by two experienced teachers and three seasoned graduate teaching assistants, the seminar will give participants the chance to learn effective teaching strategies that are useful across major disciplines.
Through small group discussions, journal assignments and micro-teaching sessions, participants will have opportunities to learn and try out successful teaching strategies.
This 10-session seminar will take place on Thursdays from Sept. 15 through Nov. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A textbook is provided.
Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
Participants will be expected to read assignments, complete a weekly journal, plan and teach a mini lesson, and participate fully in all discussions. Students will be enrolled via Student Information System.
Questions should be directed to Judy Hammer, director of Educational Services for Students (ESS), or Elise Geither, associate director of ESS, at 216.368.5230 or univ400c@case.edu.
