Prepare for a future teaching career with UNIV401 seminar this summer

Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars considering a career as faculty members or teaching at the university level are invited to sign up for UNIV401, Advanced Professional Development for University Teaching.

UNIV401 is a no-credit course that aims to introduce participants to the principles of effective teaching—from writing objectives, to assessing student learning, to active learning techniques, and more. Upon completion, participants will be able to plan and teach classes using best practices.

This 10-week summer seminar will take place on Tuesdays, from June 7 through July 28. The class will meet on Tuesday and Thursday on the first and final weeks of class.

This is an in-person seminar, and enrollment is limited to 15 students. There is no charge for this course, and a free textbook is provided.

Graduate students can register via the Student Information System (SIS).

Postdoctoral scholars/fellows can email postdoc@case.edu for registration instructions and should allow time for the application process.

All other questions should be emailed to univ401@case.edu.
