Darcy Freedman, associate director of the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, received the Sarah Samuels Memorial Award during the American Public Health Association annual meeting.
The award celebrates individuals who affect nutrition policy, advocacy and evaluation, particularly at the local and state levels.
The award is named in memory of Sarah Samuels, who established the Sarah Samuels Center and whose strong sense of social justice and equity enabled her to lead groundbreaking efforts to change America’s relationship to nutrition and public health.
