Power of Diversity Lecture Series: “The Value of Global Diversity During Tumultuous Times”

headshot of CWRU international affairs' Molly WatkinsThe Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity invites you to a lecture by Molly Watkins, executive director for international affairs, titled “The Value of Global Diversity During Tumultuous Times.” This lecture is a part of the Power of Diversity Series and will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m. in the Senior Classroom of the Tinkham Veale University Center. This event is free and open to the public.

About the speaker

Watkins has served as the executive director for international affairs in the Center for International Affairs since July 2011. In this role, she works with the Office of International Student Services, directs the Office of Education Abroad and supports efforts in the Office of Global Strategy. Watkins also works with the Vice Provost for International Affairs to identify and implement strategic initiatives designed to support internationalization efforts at CWRU. She serves on the Institute of International Education’s Global Engineering Education Exchange executive committee and is a member of the Association of International Educators, the Association of International Education Administrators, the Forum on Education Abroad and the Ohio Board of Regents’ globalization committee.

Before coming to CWRU, Watkins was the director of international education at Mississippi State University. While in Mississippi, she was the founding chair of the Mississippi Association of International Educators from 2002-2004, served as the president of Alabama Mississippi Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in 2004 and was on the Southeastern TESOL regional conference planning team in 2005.
